TV Club: CBBC & CBeebies

Following on from the success of the previous two TV Club events featuring keynote speeches from Richard Deverell (Chief Operating Officer, BBC Manchester Salford Quays) and the man who initiated the unprecedented move of BBC departments to the North, former BBC Director General, Greg Dyke, we find ourselves in the privileged position of hosting two of the most influential people from the newly re-located BBC Children's department - CBeebies Controller, Kay Benbow and CBBC Creative Director, Damian Kavanagh. This is an opportunity to meet the heads of these two departments of BBC Children's and find out what their vision is for the future of children's programming, what they are looking for in terms of content provision, and how indies can engage with children's programming at the BBC. Private 121 meetings with Kay and Damian will be available.
The TV Club continues to be partly funded and supported by Screen Yorkshire & Science City York. For the last 18 months we have been able to bring these events to Yorkshire free of charge. However as public funding decreases, opportunities like this have to become chargeable to be viable and sustainable. Therefore we have introduced a minimal charge of £10.00 to cover the event's organisational costs. Refreshments and catering are included in the ticket price.
The format is as follows:
5.00pm - 5.15pm Arrival & Welcome
5.15pm - 6.15pm Briefing from Kay Benbow, CBeebies Controller & Damian Kavanagh, CBBC Creative Director.
6.15pm - 6.45pm Q & A, plus open networking
6.45pm - 7.30pm Additional networking plus time for private meetings with Kay & Damien
7.30pm - 8.30pm Drinks

Screen Yorkshire manages the new £15m Yorkshire Content Fund, launched in February 2012. Screen Yorkshire will invest in content within in TV, film, video games and the digital sectors in Yorkshire and Humber through the innovative new Yorkshire Content Fund. The largest fund of its kind in the UK, the Yorkshire Content Fund is managed by Screen Yorkshire and is funded with £7,500,000 of investment from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which will be matched by private investment on a project-by-project basis. Screen Yorkshire will invest in content creation by Yorkshire-based companies as well as being used to attract productions looking to locate within the region.
